Ionization and Polarization

Ionization and polarized sunglasses

What is ionization? Which waves are ionizing?

Ionization is the process by which an electron receives enough energy to break away from an atom. Two charged particles or ions are created as a result of this process: a molecule with a net positive charge and a free electron with a negative charge.

Waves that are ionizing are x-ray and gamma-ray radiation which are at the upper end of electromagnetic spectrum, and have very high frequencies and very short wavelengths.

Why are polarized sunglasses better for your eyes?

Polarized sunglasses are better for your eyes because they improve vision, reduce eye strain, and prevent blinding glare caused by light reflecting off surfaces
